Here are a few hints and ideas to help your party planning run smoothly

Make Lists.  They are invaluable to make sure everything is organised and nothing is forgotten.

First of all decide on your venue and book it if necessary. Decide how many people you wish to invite and a theme for your party. If you need to hire a band, disco or entertainment now is the time to do it.

Next are the invitations. You can write or make your invitations or just email. Either way you need to make sure you have a RSVP date and you include your contact details. Once you have your guest list and an idea of numbers you can plan the food and drinks you will need.

Stock up on all things disposable such as plates, cutlery, dishes, napkins, bin bags for the rubbish and of course don't forget to choose a practical wipe clean tablecloth from our fantastic range at

Do you have enough glassware? Supermarkets offer a good range of glass hire or you could use disposable glasses. How about dishes for the party food?

Do you need a celebration cake? You might have to drop a hint if its your own birthday party you are celebrating.

If you are having your party at home or in a residential area its a good policy to let the neighbours know or even invite them.

Do you need music?. It's easy to create a playlist and you can have a wide choice of music for all tastes. If you are having party games now is the time to plan which ones and what you will need. Keep it simple.

Keep your party area as clear as possible with the table against a wall and leave room for extra chairs for your guests. Borrow extra chairs if you need to. Let's hope the sun shines but just in case make sure there is a container for umbrellas and somewhere for your guests coats.

Some gingham tablecloths

If you are using an outdoor space is it covered in case it rains? Think about lighting the garden. Strings of led lights look nice as do lanterns. Will you need a patio heater? It's a nice idea to decorate the party rooms and outside area in a colour theme.

Finally, make sure you order your food and drink in plenty of time. Once all the hard work and planning is out of the way all you have to do is enjoy yourself!
